Demonstrate the advantage of combining media when advertising in a playful way.

In 2009 STIR and NOM published data on the combined reach of print and online advertising. The new database can be used to calculate the gross and net reach of a combination of print titles and Internet sites. This means that both the exclusive reach of both media and the overlap can be analyzed. For most titles the optimal reach was achieved by combining the two media.

NDP Nieuwsmedia is the organization to promote news media for advertisers, and they commissioned ABDC to develop a concept to make this data accessible in a low effort, attractive and communicative way. I developed the “reach amplifyer”, the Bereiksversterker: a hifi-component that let you flip the switches and displays the output accordingly:

The complete interface was done in HTML / CSS. When you click in the ON/OFF switch it actually switches to another stylesheet to show the exact same data.
