Being a fan of Christopher Wool I have explored his website thoroughly. I wanted a high resolution version of that photograph of RIOT for the page on my version. And that’s when I found out that the images on Christopher Wool’s website are accessible via directory listings, which means they can be accessed directly, and in bulk, and I set out to download them all.
A lot of the photos on his site are of works in context, of an exhibition, or are actually photographs as works. When I was looking for a Wool to use in my Monochromasters, I wondered how much it really would matter to choose one work over the other as they are all pretty monochromatic. And so I chose to approach this one differently, as a body of work.
I downloaded all the images from the website and created a monochrome image from each, and Displayed these all on one page next to each other. I was expecting a sort of picelated monochrome, and was not disappointed:

You can see for yourself and browse the page here.
Scrolling down this webpage I noticed that I picked out sections in the page as if they were their own complete picture, collages that I have made using the A6 Monochromaster cards. And they also resembled some odd interesting Christopher Wool works I found on MOMA.
So I selected a few of these sections and printed them on paper, using the same process I used for the Monochromaster prints: Glicee print on Olmec paper. I printed 4 selections of 4 x4 colors on A3, which makes every color the size of a standard A6 card.

I will not limit the works created from this page to these four, and might even take custom orders id some subsection of the page is more to your liking…
