When I first saw the Strip works that Gerhard Richter made around 2011, I was rather taken aback. This was the concept and aesthetic of digital and internet art, not for Gerhard Richter to appropriate.
But maybe I was just jealous, because I feel that I could have made these works, or any artist since around 2000. But you didn’t. But I didn’t. But what I did do, is turn the 2014 movie Gerhard Richter Painting into one long large strips fest video.
