{"id":5067,"date":"2026-10-11T17:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T15:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andrebrocatus.com\/art\/?p=5067"},"modified":"2026-11-01T19:25:02","modified_gmt":"2026-11-01T18:25:02","slug":"chroma-kleur-als-onderzoek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andrebrocatus.com\/art\/chroma-kleur-als-onderzoek","title":{"rendered":"Chroma, kleur als onderzoek"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was invited by curator Gabrielle Kroese to participate in the exhibition Chroma, color as research, in Pictura Groningen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Pictura: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How does colour affect us? Colour catches our attention, evokes memories and emotions, and can make us see the world differently. We use colours every day, but rarely give them a moment\u2019s thought. The exhibition \u2018Chroma: Colour as Research\u2019 invites visitors to do just that.<br>In the various spaces at Pictura, ten artists explore what colour can mean and how it behaves. Sometimes colour is overwhelming and sensory; at other times, it is subtle and tranquil. Colour can arise from nature, change with light, speak its own language or tell us something about the world around us. The relationship between colour and sound, and the potential influence of colour on our wellbeing, are also explored.<br>In this way, colour becomes more than just something you see. It becomes a way of looking, experiencing and asking questions. Chroma demonstrates just how surprisingly versatile colour is and how strongly it is connected to our culture, our environment and our perception. The exhibition brings together visual art, science and social issues, offering a space to slow down for a moment in a fast-paced world full of images.<br>The exhibition is complemented by a wide-ranging programme of events: scientists and artists will talk about colour perception and the cultural history of colour, explore the significance of colour in nature and garden design, or lead a workshop on colour.<br>There will also be a special evening of music: Cashmyra and Atoomclub, both signed to Zeevonk Records, will compose and perform music inspired by the artworks in the exhibition.<br>This makes Chroma not just an exhibition to look at, but above all an invitation to experience colour anew. For anyone curious about art, science, music or simply the world around them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I showed two of the original <a href=\"https:\/\/andrebrocatus.com\/art\/monochromasters-expo-2020\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1648\">Monochromaster prints<\/a>, and a new collage from Monochromaster colors from van Gogh paintings. A monitor showing the video <a href=\"https:\/\/andrebrocatus.com\/art\/japan-04-05-24\">Japan 04.05.24<\/a> was located prominently in the largeest space. A new print of Spectrum colors ordered after Ellsworth Kelly was made specially for this exhibition, and hung in the staircase between the two floors of the exhibition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
